TRMNL Plugin

What is this?

Spotify Rotation displays your most-played tracks from the last 4 weeks on your TRMNL e-ink display. It updates automatically — no buttons to press, no app to open.

How it works

1. Install the plugin from the TRMNL marketplace
2. Authorize your Spotify account (one-time setup)
3. Your top tracks appear on your TRMNL on the next refresh cycle

TRMNL refreshes your screen periodically (every 15–60 minutes depending on your settings). Each refresh pulls your latest listening data from Spotify.

Layouts

Four layouts are available, matching TRMNL's display modes:

• Full — Magazine spread with your #1 track hero and full tracklist
• Half Horizontal — Hero left, top runners-up right
• Half Vertical — Hero card with ranked setlist below
• Quadrant — Album card showing your #1 track

Troubleshooting

My screen shows “Nothing playing” or “No data”

Spotify needs enough recent listening history to generate a top tracks list. If you haven't listened to much in the last 4 weeks, the display will show an empty state. Listen to some music and check back after the next refresh.

My screen isn't updating

Check your TRMNL refresh interval in the TRMNL app settings. The plugin fetches fresh data on each refresh cycle. If it's still stuck, try toggling the plugin off and on in your TRMNL playlist.

I want to disconnect Spotify

Visit the plugin management page from your TRMNL dashboard and click “Disconnect Spotify.” You can also revoke access from your Spotify app permissions page.

I want to delete my data

Visit the plugin management page and click “Delete All My Data.” This removes everything — Spotify tokens, account info, all of it. You can also just uninstall the plugin from TRMNL, which triggers automatic deletion.

Data & Privacy

We only request read access to your listening history (user-top-read). We cannot play music, modify playlists, or access your account settings. Spotify tokens are encrypted at rest. Inactive installations are automatically cleaned up after 90 days.
